82 yz 465 question

a buddy of mine has an '82 yz 465 he's looking to sell. I might be in the market but I need to know if this is a good bike, in general. It's well taken care of, however he says it may need a new float in the carb. Are these bikes reliable, dependable?or are they the Fiat's of the motorcycle world? I just need an opinion from those who ride 'em. This guy takes care of all his toys, it's just been sitting for a while. thanks.

they didn't make a 465 in 82. It was a 490.

at least that's how I remember it
