hi all, new to the kdx world, and the forums, cant seem to find what im looking for! i just picked up a 91 kdx 200, I thought it worked good when i bought it except for a ticking noise i think is from the top end somewhere, possibly something to do with the kips? saw a couple running on youtube, and think they have the noise too, is this a normal thing? what is it? also was out on er' along with my buddy who rides an 83 kdx200, and he can walk all over me, mine and his are all stock, except mine is geared 12/48, would the lower gearing give him the speed advantage or did i just buy a tired out bike? tks !

The ticking is probably the powervalve and is common. You will get used to it.

I had an '84 and the top speed was every bit equal to the '90 I had, so with 12/48 on your bike, he may have an advantage.

You have disc brakes, though. ;)
