96' vs 97' CR 250

witch bike should i get.
i heard that the 97' had a realy good engine, but a bad frame.
i have heard good things about the 96' as well, but witch one to get.
I would get a 01' but dont have alot of money to work with.

The '97 frame if fine. The bad frame rap is a bunch of magazine hooey, IMO. Once the suspension is valved correctly, the 'overly stiff frame' instantly becomes livable.

yep, my choice would be the '97.

I just picked up a 97 250 and I love it. I'm not an experienced rider though. Tons of power for me ( 34 yr old man :) ).
