I recently bought a 98 220 and it has an FMF "Burly" pipe on it with the turbine core 2 silencer. Can someone tell me how to identify which model pipe it is (I don't see any stampings on the mount tabs or anywhere else with the pipe mounted) but I suspect it is a torque pipe because the bike just flattens out too quickly. It has the standard 33mm carb and reed and I am wondering if I would see some improvement in the mid to top end if I swapped carbs with my 90 model 200. And lastly, for a friend, will a kX tank fit his 88 200 and is it possible for him to remove the speedo drive unit and replace it with a spacer/seal assembly? Keep KDX'n and protect our rights to ride and public lands!

I also have a 98 220 with the Burly pipe. There is a number stamped on the inside of the upper mounting tap. You may have to remove the pipe to see it, or take your tank off. Mine is stamped KB-30, which is the rev pipe. Mine also flattens off in the high RPM, but I did some jetting changes and helped a bit. I am also very interested is swapping carbs off my dads 91 200 so if anyone has any info on jetting and such with a larger, older carb, please tell!

There is a thread where Canadian Dave mentions it, but has yet to reply to my post. http://www.dirtrider.net/forums3/showthread.php?postid=377083#post377083
