ok i just bought a 98 cr125 that is like brand new still. i rode it when i bought it and it seemed fine. i get home ride it for a minute then it bogs and dies. i put a new plug it started and in a minute bogged and died. now me and my dad cleaned the carb and put new gas and it was a little boggy but seemed to get better and it started up every time but after like 15 minutes of riding it bogged and died again and i'm back where i started and it won't start again.

any help appreciated thanks

for one, what are you mixing at?

two, are you riding it hard enough to burn the oil or are you just putting around. 125's arn't going to do any thing if your not in powerband.

third, check your plugs and see how your jetting is, it seems to be way to rich.

Another thing I would do to help you out if your not screaming gears and are riding the woods, is lower your gearing. this will let the bike drop to lower rpms before stalling.

one last thing, when your going slow, slip the clutch to get your rpms up so you don't bog

well first off i am mixing at 32:1 like the oil says on it and the guy at the honda store said to also

two when it did run for me the few times it did no i didn't really get on it alot because i just rode it on a little strip of grass behind my house.

third i don't know how to check plugs to see if i'm running rich because i'm still a noob sorry

well for one check the sticky on jetting, this will help,(its in the 2-stroke section) pull your spark plug after ridding at certain throttle positions and see what it looks like.

if its black and wet then your too rich, if its light tan and dry then your good, and if its white then your too lean.

well now i put a new air filter cause the old one was pretty dirty and i set the air screw back to the stock position and it still wouldn't start. then i changed the plug once again and it started up every time (first time it was real boggy) and i rode it pretty hard for about 15 min and it never bogged and died, it seemed to be running good. i need to ride some more though and see if it does. and when i took out that plug it was black and a little wet by the way.

thanks for the help also
