'99 ktm 125sx

I am looking at buying this bike and would like every possible piece of information on it. Was '99 a good year for the 125sx? What was the powerband like? Should I get the bike?
Will there be a big improvement over my 98 cr125?and in what way will it be different?

Big difference to your 98 cr,the 99 had a fast engine but it has little bottom end power(less than 00/01/02)it suspension wasnt the best but then i didnt like the 98 crs either.It wont turn as well as the cr but vibrates alot less.The forks on the 99 were heavy and i didnt like them(but many do)The hydro clutch is great.The brakes IMO arnt as good as CRs.Good quality parts on the KTMs.Its hard to say if its a better bike as it really is so different, IMO you need to blag a ride on one as you may love/hate it.

Those heavy forks on the 99 are 50mm conventional wp's. MXA called them the best fork of 1999. I put my 98 ktm 200 motor in a 99 sx 125 chassis just to get those forks. They are better than the forks on my 01 yz 250f. Buy this bike, the motor is also good and the 99 PDS shock was also pretty good (way better than the 98).
