99 vs. 2001 KX250 power difference?

I'm looking at two different bikes right now. One is a 99 KX250, and the other is an 01 KX250. Both bikes look to be in excellent shape. Are there any major differences between the 99 and 01 KX's such as suspension or power? The 01 is $500 more and has only been ridden a few times. Thanks for any info! Matt

The 99 has a stronger motor off the bottom, the 2001 is a mid range power motor. They both have good power off the bottom though. The 01 has much better brakes, they went to honda style stuff in 01. Other than that they are pretty much the same. One of my riding buddies has a 99 and I have had 2 oh1's so I have been able to ride them back to back. They are about the same,EXCEPT for the brakes, my bike has a much more confident feeling front brake.
