I really like shooting in black and white. Way back when in the film days I shot mostly Tri-X 400 and I really liked the way it looked. I read that the Alien Skin Exposure plugin was supposed to be very good at reproducing the "look" of various color and B&W film types including Tri-X 400, so I grabbed the demo. I been goofing around with the 30 day demo version and so far I'm really impressed with what it can do. This looks like something worth buying.

Here are a couple of first attempts with the software.

Nice. But man I've got to tell ya... the exposure and color is SO good in the original!

Thanks. I guess the first one is a "technically" good shot but it has no real "soul".

This software can so some amazing things with color shots as well.

The first one below emulates Fuji Velvia 100 which is pretty amazing. The second pic is my favorite old moto shooting color film Ektachrome. I still have a bunch of old Ektachrome slides from the 70s that I shot at the Maplehurst MX park. One of these days I'll have to scan them to digital.

I didn't do any other adjustments to the first 2 pics other than the film type emulation so you'd get a better idea what it does. The third pic is Mid 70s Ektachrome that I adjusted to what I thought looked best.

This is really fun to play with and is a plugin well worth downloading to try out.

Nice... I'll have to check that out...

Has anyone tried out Photoshop CS3?

I have been using it for about a month, and love it!

Coming from a Fan of photography, that 2nd shot takes a person back in time :) I like the "No Parking"
Could you do something like that of that bobber you posted awhile back?

The first one is my favorite too, except for those two guys in the middle of the street, they're a real distraction.

Next time I'm bringing a rail gun to eliminate those pesky distractions. ;)

Here's one more that simulates the old school film gold split toning process. This is too much fun trying out these effects without the cost of chemicals and paper. :yeehaw:

I like the color versions of the rod better. I like the red plug wires and the blue sheen on the car's body. Nice stuff mister.

With the last rod picture using the Ektachrome settings it really shows the heat bluing on the headers which is pretty cool.

A couple more.

1) Mid 70s Ektachrome
2) Mild Sepia tone softend sharpness
3) Selenium Split brown (this one has real potential if I learn how to use it properly)
