now that its all apart i have to ask if i get the cyclinder bored say 40 or 60 over and get it renickelized will i see a power difference if not its staying stock bore..
im in the same boat. i just picked op a cute little 96 rm80. the punk i got it from told me he last rode it 4 mths ago and it wouldnt start because the carb needed cleaning. he only got $100 from me but when i took the top end off i realized that the rings were gone, the piston was 1/2 gone, and the head gasket was missing, no oil in bot end, ect. im trying to determine if i should put the $$ into getting it running again or part it out. best case, i figure im looking @ new con. rod bearrings, piston/rings, rebore and gasket kit. none of my clymers/hanyes get into splitting crank, or truing. do i need a press and special tools for this or how much should i expect my local shop charge me to split and press?
