Another Race Report...

The track was sandy as could be, no rain in forever.

The boy finished 4th overall in the beginner class after crashing in both mottos and working back up from near the back of the 15-20 riders. He also got his first whole shot in the open bike class by sneaking in on the inside of the first turn (finally got our money's worth on those lessons).

My race had a lousy turnout for some reason, just 8 guys in the 125 Beginner. I decided to go for broke trying to catch the leader (from 2nd) in both races and wound up on the ground in both cases finishing 2nd to last :|

i am way down in punta gorda now
no more dade city motorcross for time being
just picked up a new bike also 96yz125 :ride:
so soon after i get used to it i may go to dade city
on the weekends to race prob same class as you 125 beg
what is bartows schedule and do you have a link for there web site

we chose to ride the series at Bartow instead because for son's class (85 beginner) they get a pretty good gate (15-20 riders) and the races run from 6pm to roughly 9:30. At Dade City, they get good gates in all races (better competition in the advanced classes) but the races run from 7pm to roughly 12 or later. Plus the Thursday night practice is jammed and doesn't start until 7 so on a school night he's lucky to get 3 mottos. I've only raced at Bartow in the 125 Beg but have ridden at Dade City a hanful of time on Thursday nights. I love the track there as much as anywhere.
