Buddy Antunez is supposed to ride in the Indy SX. Is he factory sponsored? I've never seen him ride , is he any good? I know he did well in arenacross.

i was wondering the same thing. I think that how he does will show the caliber of rider needed to race supercross and the differnece between arenacross and supercross compitition. If he doesn't do well, I guess that would mean that he was the big fish in the little pond of arenacross.

he is factory suzuki, unless it's changed and i'm the last to know of it. as for what i think, i don't think he'll be all that great. i've seen him in AX races and he's good and those tracks are tight, but very short and the jumps are pretty small. getting tired is a big obstacle to overcome in a 20 lap main. also these guys he's racing against do this stuff all the time. i got nothing against him, just trying to be realistic.

Buddy raced SX and the Nationals for factory Suzuki in the early 90's. He won three 125 SX mains in '90. In '92, he was 2nd in the 125 west series behind some kid named Jeremy McGrath. Before returning to Suzuki and dominating AX, he placed 4th in the 125 outdoor season in '96.

This AMA page has links to all kinds of SX and outdoor history, going way back. http://www.amaproracing.com/archive/00sxmx/MOTOX.HTM

Buddy dominated the AX circuit, but as crkid mentioned, there is a big difference in the tracks and endurance required. I think he will eventually do pretty well once he gets acclimated. He may not be winning the title, but I believe he can be consistently in the top 5-6. I also belive you will see him on the podium.
