Anybody familiar with Desmodromic Engines

I am looking into getting a new Ducati GT for the street. I have been warned about the desmo engine- that it is incredibly difficult to adjust.

Just curious if anyone has any experience with these engines. I know they aren't Honda reliable but I wanted this to be a daily commuter. Info and opinions are appreciated.
