Arenacross in MI

A couple of years ago there was an arenacross race in Grand Rapids at Van Andel arena. Does anybody know if there will be a race in 2002?

The national riders compete on Friday and Saturday, with Sunday reserved for the amateurs.

I've got Saturday tickets right across from the Finish line!

Anybody planning to attend on Friday night?

Just be aware by 'national riders' that is the Arena cross riders:ugg: .
Don't expect to see Mcgrath, Carmicheal, and the rest there:mad: . For that you'll have to hit the SX at Indy (Feb 9th) or Pontiac (April 19)

My expectation is to see Buddy and the boys. Two years ago the races were dominated by a local "pro" named DeHoop. Actually, I prefer the smaller tracks = more action.

Well you won't see Buddy, he's racing supercross this year. But Denny, Josh, Pedro, Rusty etc. will be there. Todd DeHoop is still racing the regionals. He did very well last year when I saw him.

I would bet that Todd races this national AX. He usually hits the big pro events that are close to home. One guy I would really like to see there is John Grewe, a really fast guy from the GR area that is usually right there with Todd at all the local western Michigan races.

i think damon bradshaw will also be there , that will make it worth the trip.

Also If everyone wants to get together afterwards for a few brew's my house is only 15 minutes away.

Jeff, Fred and I (along with Mike Sr and Nathan T) will be in section 108 row J on Friday night. It may work better to meet before the event (rather than after) due to the drive home.

If you are taking 94 to 131N, 131 passes right by it. Just follow the signs!

A couple of years ago we ate at the "Big Building" or "Big House". As I remember it was across the street from Van Andel.

We are meeting east of Lansing at 2:30 and will be in GR around 4:00.
I got these directions from the Van Andel internet site:
Hwy 96 to 196. Take exit 77C - Ottawa Ave. Go to Fulton. Parking is in the rear of the arena.
The Big Old Building is across the street from the arena.

I just recieved an email from MWeissen, we'll be at the will call booth at 7:00pm to get our tickets, this is at the bottom of the stairs by the main entrance. If we dont see you at the will call, we will go up to your section and look for ya there.
