Just copied this directly from KTM Talk, thought I'd share it:
This weekend we went camping and rode some really great singletrack, tight by Colorado standards, by far the tightest I've ridden, so my skills in that stuff are lacking at best.
Anyway, I was way up on the tank and caught my left shin, just under the knee on a log that was hidden (one of those logs that has been cut to clear a trail, one half on one side and one half on the other). And naturally took a nice bark sample from the opposite side of the trail when I stopped! I never saw it, but I sure felt it.
There were two saving graces, one my CELLS, Thank you Asterisk!!! There is no doubt in my mind had I not had them on, or was wearing regular shin guards that my leg would now be broken. No doubt at all. The other plus was the log was partially rotted. It broke about 4 feet up from where I hit it, but was still about 6 inches in diameter.
Tore a hole through my pants, took a good chip out of my cells, but I'm fine (well as fine as a 37 year old dirtbikeres body can be)
Cell Knee braces...don't leave home without them
