Aux. gas tank

I'm interested putting some more gas in my bike for when we head up north for the good trails. I was looking into the IMS tanks, but then I ran across an aux. fuel tank by Acerbis in the Chaparral catalog. It takes the place of your # plate and it'll hold either 0.8 or 1.3 gallons. I'm wondering if anyone has ever used one of these? I don't have a problem forking out the dough for a real tank, but for the most part, my little 2.2 gallon stock tank works great. Plus, I like how the stock set up is in regards to the tank area layout, and am unsure what a bigger tank would do to the ergo's. Thanks guys.

if ouy need the fuel range go with a tank. sounds like your looking at lights, so you cannot mount the aux. tank. besides i would rather have a slightly bulgier tank than a gallon of fuel strapped to the front of my forks anyday! try to find a 3 gallon if you can, i put a 3.2 ims on my kx because that was the amount my ktm's held and that amount of fuel for the kx is not necessary. with the design of the ims tanks you will not notice the difference at all!

I'd have to second that. Get a replacement tank and get a petcock for that one too. Then you can just change it back to stock when you're back to play riding. By the time you're done jacking with that number plate deal, you could swap tanks twice. Plus it puts 8+ lbs of fuel at the highest possible point on your bike, until it drains it.

There's also the enduro jugs that mount to the crossbar of your handlebars that you might consider.
