Has anyone tried them. Here is a link

http://www.mxsouth.com/axo/axoknetmkp.htm

I have some thor ones that just cracked again. Let me say that they I never like them because with they did not fit me right. They just moved around to much. If I have the money I would pop for some new Cells, but I don't :whinner:

Also, fox makes some that are similar. Anyone try those?

Look at the add for the knee pads, specifily the helmet of the rider pictured. Does anyone else see the irony in that add?

I wear the AXO knee guards and I love them. I was also tired of cracking the thor pads. The liner in the AXO pads can be washed and they don't fall apart.

Danman, are you talking about those new Thor Force knee guards? Was wondering because I was going to get the AXO TMKP's but was sold on (and ordered) the Thor Force's by the dealer - his main point was the click-in plastic buckles that you set once to fit rather than just velcro. Link to the Thor's is below.

Thanks for the replies. Those thor ones look cool, but it does not say anything about removeable padding. I like the idea of the removalbe ones because the thor pads would smell pretty rank after a few rides. They add you posted did not list them as removable. Any one know if they are? I like the idea of washing the pads every now and then. Any bets on who has the thickest plastic? Fox, Thor, or AXO

Here is a link to the fox ones FOX PADS

Anyway the irony for the AXO add was that the guy pictured (Nathen Ramesy maybe) has an Asterisk sticker on his helmet. If he is a sponsered by them he is proalby not were any of AXOs knee pads. Just thought it was kind of funny. ;)

P.S. They list in price from 49, 59, and 69. AXO, Thor, and Fox respectively.

At this point I'm not sure if the Fox is worth 20 bucks over the AXO. Nobody in town carries all three lines so its not like I can check them all out. I'm not sure anyone in town even carries fox gear.

Danman, I just happen to have got the '03 Thor catalog in the mail last week and looked at the Force kneeguard in there - here is a quote from the end of their Force kneeguard description:

"To finish things off, we added a removable/washable liner and a combination airprene/webbing closure system for a secure fit."

You are right, it would suck if you couldn't wash them - I started to get a little worried about it so I looked it up right quick like.

One of the local shops will the the thor unit in to inspect by next week. They also said they were getting a bunch of fox stuff (must be a new thing because most of what I see in there is THOR). I may wait so that I check it out before buying it.

Karl brought home a pair of the AXO TMKP's for me and they were too bulky under my riding pants. The pants bound up over the knee cup so I couldn't bend my knee enough to get a good kick on my kickstarter. It also made riding very uncomfortable and I wear knee AND elbow guards all the time.

Karl had the same problem too. Maybe with pants that have more room in the knees, we both wear Answer Stylus pants.

They look like a good idea but just didn't work for us. I'll stick with my old Shift Kneeguards for now.
