Bent muffler - 74 Suzuki TS250

Anyone got any suggestions for straightening an exhaust? The muffler on my TS250 took a hit with the previously owner and now has a crease shortly after the connection with the header. It's he muffler, not the pipe. Anyway, the exhaust only lines up with the back support.but the front support is about three inches out from its mount. It is a serious crease, bordering on a fold. The exhaust doesn't seem to be restricted, the bike runs great. It really grabs. But I'm afraid to get into any serious dirt with the exhaust hanging by only one support. Anyone have any idea how to straighten this? Or does anyone know where to find an aftermarket exhaust. The engine is completely rebuilt, down to the bearings and seals and a bore and new piston, and I think it deserves a good pipe.

Even though it's the muffler not the pipe, it sounds like a job for a professional pipe repair company. There are a few out there - check the back of Cycle News. Certainly you would need to call first and find out if they would take the job. .

i have a 77 ts 250 i use for a light trail crusier runes pretty good but you should do what that guy said and get it fixred....or beat the crap out of it till it goes where u want it

What the the drawback of using just straight pipe? I could bend a pipe to fit. The main problem other tha back pressure would be shielding the pipe so it doesn't burn my leg, as I see it. How much does this motor rely on back pressure?

It's not just "back pressure" it's the pressure wave that is regulated by the four sections of the expansion chamber.The head pipe, the forward cone, the rear cone, and the stinger are all critical to two stroke performance. Straight pipe two strokes are one dimensional in the power ranges. No power, some power, no power.!

Get the pipe you have fixed!!
