Reading a recent post about something EVERYone should know (but they don't) brings the following:
When removing the nut from the top of the advancing shaft on the RH side on newer kawi KIPS devices SUPPORT THE SHAFT USING THE FLAT ON THE SHAFT!!
and...
THE NUT HAS LEFT HAND THREADS!!! (so does the shaft;) )
Failure to support the shaft while wrenching on the nut will fatigue, break, bend the shaft which will lead to serious, maybe catastrophic engine failure.
Cheers!
