Ijust bought a couple of bike shoes to try out instead of cranking my suspension down with tie downs . They do hold the bikes down good but it looks like they put a lot of stress on the front tire. I can't help thinking it will cause prematue tire failure . oppinions please?

I know what you are thinking and what you are seeing, but in almost three years I haven't noticed any damage to the tyres (that's for the UK DRNers :) ) and one of the bikes has had the same tire for nearly two years.

I use the same method but I still use ties (lightly) to prevent wheel stresses...but no tire wear.....

I have used two bike shoes in my rig for a couple of years also, my main worry was with the stress on the rim. I just mounted straps to the wall of the trailer to control the side to side motion of the bikes on rough roads.
