Black Pro Circuit Pipe?

I've got a 1988 Cr250.

I just noticed that I have a PC pipe. I thought it was stock when i first bought the bike because it was black so i never really thought anything of it. Seeing this i realized that the jet was proboly too big on my bike. I have a 185 in it right now for the main. The PC website says 175 for my bike. i'm hoping thats my problem there.

Is it possible my PC pipe is a fake or can you buy them in black instead of chrome?

As far as i know they never made any black pipes but its possible the previous owner just spray painted it black though.

I have a FMF Fatty and i have a 185 main in mine i didn't jet it though the person before me did.Maybe that's whats wrong with both of our bikes im going to go to a 180.

I called the pro circuit company today and they said a little while back they offered a powder coated black option on the pipe. I really hope the jet is my problem. The guy said try the exact spec that PC recommends and adjust from there. 185 is a little fat to begin with i guess.

ya no Problem. I'm just waiting for the bike mechanic localy here to call me back. I've had to haul the thing back and forth for like the 5th time cause there is no where to ride it at my house with police involved.

Would the 185 having to be 175 make that big of a difference and is it a good idea to set to PC specs or just experiment?
