I've looked around for a motocross style black rear fender for my 01 kdx 220 and the only place i've been able to find a black one is from maier------> http://www.maier-mfg.com/. I don't know if they make them for your bike but you might as well check. I've heard that you can also buy kx 125/250 rear fenders but you have to cut them down a little bit to make them fit. If you can't find what you're looking for let me know and i'll try to help out some more.
The problem with the 83-5 is the rear luggage rack on the bike. That is actually a great feature to have, but makes getting a MX style rear fender harder since it has to be so long to clear the luggage rack. The newer KDXs w/o the luggage rack is pretty easy to convert.
The UFO rear generic enduro fender fits really well on the bike.
Give it up! Get the KX sidepanels installed that I gave you fool with your new $15 Hushpupy silencer! Who cares about the rear fender, I don't cause you are always behind me on the trails!
