Does anybody know the correct bolt size for splitting the cases on a yz-125 it looks like a m8 with 1.25 pitch threads does anyone know if this is the correct size. I am trying to use a automotive harmonic balancer to split cases but I need to the correct bolt size.
The balancer looks like it will work with bolts 5 inch long.
Thanks for any info

m8 x 1.25 thread pitched bolts 120mm long worked on my 1985 yz-125, I got the cases split tonight. Used automotive harmonic balancer and had to make slot longer on one end of harmonic puller so bolt hole centers would line up on case and to center puller.

Cool, this helps alot. I am about to split the cases on my 87 yz 250 and was wondering the same thing about the bolts i should use. I would assume that they are the same on mine as they were on yours, so i will give that a try first. I was also trying to make my own tool, but maybe i will try the harmonic balancer idea as well.
