Bruised kidney and broken ribs

I recently took a rather mundane spill that damaged my kidney and broke a couple of ribs. Has anyone seen any effective equipment to protect your side and ribs? My chest protector was no help. Also how about neck protection?

You can get additional rib plastic plates to attatch to the HRP. Also get a football neck collar at the sporting goods store for under 15 bucks.
