Honestly, I have not seen anyone saying anything about Bubba's personality... there have just been comments on his actions on the podium and expectations of how his podium speaches and antics should be handled.

Nobody here should be pre-judging him as a person or anything. I believe I've as much said that in my posts. Only a few in here have even met him.

You are right that almost anything will be discussed on the Internet... just as it is discussed in the pits, at the shop or anywhere bench racing occurs. It's just fans speaking their mind. Nobody should take this stuff any more seriously than they would if they were in the same discussion at the practice track with a bunch of buddies.

I have a comment about David Bailey: I cannot believe the comment he made as they showed the replay of Travis preston being taken out at SFSX! His quote--" I didn't see anything wrong with it; there just happened to be a support there."

David, watch the replay again! It was not a block pass, it was a take out move. The PC rider made a hard left turn after he had already squared off his right turn! Had he just drifted over into TPs line I could have agreed, but he came in at an exteme angle and rammed him.

:flame:

At least the AMA seems to agree, as the move resulted in a $1000 fine!:thumb:

The move itselt didn't get teh $1000 fine... it was Duke Finch's perception that Matt Walker said that it was "payback" when Matt was on the podium. Duke Finch said that is why he fined him... not b/c of the move iteslf but b/c Matt's comments opened the door for intent. If he wouldn't have said anything there would not have been a fine (according to Duke Finch - read the interview on www.racerxill.com).

Furthermore, Matt lost control a little and the bike stepped out... he just let it drift out into Preston.

I'm just telling you what Duke said. You can argue the logic of his statement all you want.

Duke said as much that if Matt wouldn't have made a comment the fine probably wouldn't have happened. The move did not cause the comment. The person on the podium had the choice of what to say and he chose to comment about the move.

Haven't watched it yet, nice gesture though. Now if it was preceeded or followed by the bananaman dance it might loose some effect. You know if they just wouldn't have even shown it I'd be in my happy little ivory tower kingdom with nothing to say. :)

I know Bubba is great and all and you would think that he dosn't need any help , ok . But the pessimist in me says Kawasaki had the green meanies attack Preston to assure the outcome . Hate to be so negative but Preston is to smooth to go at like that .
