Well, either you sign autographs, and make time for a wide eyed five year old, or you don't. Bubbas behaviour as described is the behaviour of a jerk. I hope he grows up some day. I'm not particularly a fan of RC, but Bubba might find it beneficial to try to follow his example. He might need more than riding talent to justify his pay cheque one day, or perhaps Kawasaki think that they have the best selling bike in the class he rides ?

You should start a thread with "RC is cool!" as the title.

A lot of the top riders are cool.
Last Saturday an amateur on the Saturday race asked Vuilleman if he had a shifter because he broke his and couldn't race. David said sorry, the Yamaha guys already left. Well, going back to his pit he ran into the Yamaha of Tro mechanics. He got a ****ter from them and went looking in the amateur pit to find the guy. That allowed the guy to race that day. Very classy move in my book.

Please?

Nice Story about Vuillemen- I like to hear that stuff

I think RC has the best attitude of any of them- he works hard and wins and he doesn't gloat. Good Role model.

As far as the autograph thing goes I too could care less I enjoy just crusing the pits, but you always do your best to please your kid. Like I said I didn't have a problem when he went away at first because I know he has things to do, but when he came back and had time do fawn over some young girl and grab someone he must have known to take a picture not more than 10 feet away is when I realized what a jerk he was. I never said he owed anyone squat, but he as far as I am concerned he didn't even make an attempt. We were very respectful and approiate, we never yelled or anything my son was begging a bit, but thats to be expected. His motorhome was only 4' from the pit area so it was roped off right in line with the pits, so it wasn't like we were stalking him.

Those of you who are defending him are well within your right to do so and I expected as much, but events went down just as I described ( IVAN) I have not reason to hype it up, and to be honest before this I kinda liked him. I have been to many Nationals over the years and this was the first time I ever witnessed any rider being so rude.

He does his stupid dances, always refers to himself in the third person, and boasts about how he is the greatest rider around. If he is going to do stuff like this then maybe he should be prepared for young children to look up to him. All you Bubba defenders go ahead and flame me, but I was there and witnessed it first hand. He is still a jerk.

No offense but there are always 3 sides to every story.

Your side
Stewart's side
The truth

Unless I was there I can't lay blame on Stewart and call him a jerk. Not that I don't believe you did not get an autograph and I do believe you were more respectful than others but I do not know the rest of the story.

Anybody see Bubba on Two Wheel Tuesday last night. He was talking about how he always goes out of his way to sign everyones autographes, than he talked about when he was a kid trying to get autographs and didn't always, how he felt. I

He is still a kid and I don't mean that in a bad way. He has gotten fame and fortune at a very earlier age.

I have never understood this whole autograph thing. Bubba probably signs thousands of autographs every week, and thousands of people go home happy every week because of this. Then he misses signing 1 autograph and this all of a sudden makes him a jerk? I don't think so. He probably taught your kid a valuable lesson that day, that you don't always get what you want.

I couldn't agree more that he is a young kid with alot put on his shoulders. If he did comment that he goes out of his way to sign everyone's autogragh then I am sure he believes that.

I imagine at some point every single racer out there has failed to autograph every item pushed in front of them. I bet we could even find someone who didn't get McGraths autograph at some point.

If you have been around message boards for the last few years, you would have seen this type of post concerning just about EVERY top rider. You will also see others stating just the opposite. They all have good days and bad days. The problem lies with the ones with "attitudes".
I can remember back in 1999 when my 8 year old approached Michael Brandes while he was watching practice at the St. Louis Sx. He was not in the designated riders area, and he had on his jersey (with his name plastered on the back).
Anyhoo, my son wanted an autograph and was blown off, big time. My son was understandably upset. We walked around the stands trying to find our seats and my son spotted Brock Sellards. Brocks response was exactly the opposite. He signed my sons jersey and even struck up a conversation. Brandes had an attitude. Brock did not. I still root for Brock, and I stopped rooting for Brandes on that day. I did not object to what Brandes did, but the manner in which he did it. My son was only 8. If Brandes did not want to be bothered, he should have had his butt in the security protected riders area, and not out where he would be "bothered".
That being said, I have also witnessed team managers and mechanics telling their riders "No more autographs, we have to get ready", when many were still in line to get those autographs. I have seen those same riders actually apologizing to fans because they had to stop signing.
The demands on these guys time is overwhelming, but so are the salaries they are receiving.IMHO

Yup.................)

I am off tomorrow for a mx race in the vet class. I will probably ride my Yamaha 250F and get my lunch handed to me by the big bikes, but I will NOT have any autograph issues to deal with................lol

FINALLY....someone who hates Bubba as much as i do!!! I can't stand the kid. If i get a bad vibe from someone, it takes alot for me to get over it. I met him in LV SX (04) and he was a dick! His arrogence and upitty-ness was too much to bare. I don't get star-struck and i dont take kindly to people who think that just because they are recognized and have people laying at their feet, that they should be bigger than everybody else. Then with all that stuff with Ronron at the race, i have no respect for the guy. GET OVER YOURSELF BUBBA......someones gunna get by you sooner or later. I prefer sooner.

I don't want to start any trouble with anyone but... I think Bubba is just about the most tallented rider of all time. The only thing is...he's a kid! I've been watching him take-out guys (even his own team-mates) the last few races, and his response was "that's racing". He's soooo fast, and he acts like everyone he passes is a threat. I think he's going to hurt someone very soon.

He's just a bit too flashy and reckless for my liking.

No, I think he is a jerk too- Could you imagine Roger Decoster doing those silly dances ?

It is not because he wins everything in sight, I think he is a great talent- but when he is arrogant and not the least bit humble it is not easy to like him. I just wish he would go away.

Pretty sad the only real coverage our sport gets on TV and it is about his race. If he was white and had accomplished everything he has ( gee , like RC) he would not have been a story.

He should have told them to shove it uness they wanted to focus on his racing and his outstanding technical accomplishments in a difficult sport that gets no coverage from the major media. . But that would have meant not being on tv- guess we know what is more important.

Maybe when he matures a little he will change .

I love the kid, as long as he has a helmet on and is riding, it's awesome...When he talks, not so much.
