Looks like it was the "sprinkler" man that's just wrong, some people don't have a yard to water or grass to cut. what was he thinking....

I find it offensive that there are three pages of people commenting about James's dance and only two posts about the darn race. Who cares, what is this board called "Solid Gold" dancers?

Steve, that's just real funny :thumb:

Dude, if I could ride like Bubba, I'd be dancing too, all the way to the bank.

Get use to seeing Bubba dance, he's the best rider in MX/SX right now, and possibly EVER.

Dance Bubba, dance!

No disrespect to you or to Bubba, but until somebody beats RC head to head for a major title, he's the current 'king' of MX/SX. As Super Rat would say, "Scoreboard." RC has never lost a 250 outdoor title, and Bubba's never even raced the top class. Time will tell - in 5 years or so, we will see how Bubba stacks up to RC's outdoor accomplishments.

As far as SX, Bubba's got about 9 or 10 years of racing the premier class before he claims McGrath's 'best ever' crown. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. But McGrath has earned his crown. The 'best ever' title sure as heck should not be awarded to someone who has never even lined up with the 250cc class.

Personally, I think Bubba is something special. IMO, he should be mixing it up with Windham and Reed at every round this year. Of course, if he was finishing 3rd, we might not be hearing so much 'best ever' talk.

I thought his Sprinkler dance at Minne was funny. It keeps people on their feet, everyone is wondering what old-school dance move he'll do next week. Face it, without McGrath, our sport is losing some fans. This Minneapolis SX was probably one of the smallest crowds I have seen do date. So, even if you don't like it, a majority of fans might, and Bubba is the next person to draw in more fans.

I don't usually chime in on this type of stuff, but here is my thought. James is a kid, he is "trying" to do some things after a win to gain even more notority*. I think he will learn like many "champions" that kind of stuff gets old fast. Some football coach used to say "when you score a touchdown, act like you intended to be there or "expected" to be there." I think James will do that down the road.
Of course MC started the nac nac and now we have "freestyle" LOL not sure what this dancing stuff will turn into?

Can anyone imagine Roger doing a "worm dance or sprinkler man" after a GP win in the 60's or 70's ?

[QUOTE= but until somebody beats RC head to head for a major title, he's the current 'king' of MX/SX

Hell he beat his lap times on his 125 not once but several times and RC was on a 250, I know they have not gone head to head, but he will and it will be sad cause I love how RC rides. Windom was the only rider that could beat RC last year, and in Supercross Chad Reed was the only rider to beat him, now Windom is beating Chad Reed.

Not counting regional 125SX, RC has 10 major titles so far (4 x 250 outdoors, 3 x 250 SX, and 3 x 125 outdoors).

When Bubba gets up to 5 major titles, give me a call and we'll talk. :)

Not so long ago, TP was the next big thing. One thing TP has in common with Bubba is by the end of '04, they will both have 0 wins in 250 SX and 250 outdoors.

FWIW, Bubba ain't the first guy on a 125 to lap with the 250 leaders on some tracks. He won't be the last, either.

Bubba = Unlimited Potential. RC = Been there, done that.

Got to see Bubba live for the first time this weekend and there are not enough words to describe this kid's riding. I can honestly say that there was not another rider in that stadium on any size bike that can match this kid's skills. As for the dance I could take it or leave it but it's all part of the show. Pretty sweet for some young fan when Bubba leaves the podium and gives his helmet away to a kid in the first few rows :thumb:

I think his dancing just adds to the entertainment! I was laughing pretty hard when I saw his sprinkler dance! Can't wait to see what he does if (when) he wins next week! Somebody should teach him the banana dance -->:yeehaw:

I'm with Wardy.

Humpin' the dirt is Bubba's choice, but how it's viewed by the fans of the sport is not, to each his own.

I could have lived without the "worm" but I actually thought the "sprinkler" was funny. I'm hoping he busts out the "lawnmower" next week.

Not trying to be a "curmudgeon" I just feel if Bubba has all this extra energy he needs to expel maybe he should run around the stadium instead of riding his victory lap  I could also do without the dorky sideways cap thing, maybe he should just switch to a propeller beanie.

I guess it's my turn since I started the thread blasting the NFL players for their antics....
I was at Minneapolis and thought it just looked stupid and later made a comment to Chili that I thought he should stop it as part of being the best is good sportsmanship. As I was taught good sportsmanship it didn't include rubbing your victory in the competitions faces. I won't condemn him for doing it but I sure won't encourage him to do it that is up to his fellow racers if any can ever catch him to show their feelings.
I do believe it is different from the football situation as MX/SX are indivual sports and Bubba won that race all by himself. Football players as great as they may be probably wouldn't have made their move without 10 others on the field leading the interferance in some way.
Bubba can dance but I for one am far more impressed by his riding

Hopefully, we'll see James doing some kind of dance at this year's Motocross DesNations celebrating a win for the USA with two other teamates (how about a line dance to "Ain't no stoppin' US now) !
