and as for the amazing US talent pool, in the 250 race, 4 riders from the top 6 are not natives! :nener:

seems like that if Bubba and Kdub dont want to do the MXDN then the US should not bother, unless they let ricky race 125s and 250s, LOL

just got back from an absolute beautiful, Blue-skyed race today....I think this is the third year in a row that the Bubba/RC show won overall. At least I know that next year it will be impossible for the same results as the years prior, since Bubba is moving up
Couple of points from today:
Was at the Yamaha pit after 2nd practice, Brock sellards came in, put up his bike on stand, then Matt Walker drove his bike in, and started a fight with sellards, knocking brock to the ground. I got the very end on video tape. The troy team picked up Walkers bike and told him to get out while restraining Brock....it was comical that Matt walker couldnt fire up his kx250f after 10-12 kicks and had to push it out of the Troy tent back to his rig.
Bubba is just plain sick.
RC is still THE MAN.
Reed put on a great show keeping Rc in his sights both motos, while everyone was distant third and beyond. I would definately say that Chad HAS stepped it up this year, but unfortunately for him, RC is still racing at his level which I do not think anyone can match. For the majority of both motos it was RC, then 6 secs back Reed, then 30 secs back DV and the rest....
K-dub looked in another one of his funks, BOTH motos, not to say his isnt a great rider, But I expected more from him today; but then again, they replaced his handlebars and such in the pits before the race, maybe he had a bad wreck in practice.
RC set another record I believe in recording his 100th overall today.
Ryno gets the tough man award. He crashed extremely hard over a rutted out downhill section, appeared that he supermaned the bike with both legs on one side of the bike and had viscious getoff. But got back up and finished the 1st moto and came back and raced the 2nd moto.
Broc Helper rode strong for both motos, 1st one being on Brownies tail the entire moto.
I haven't been able to figure out Millsaps though
Oh yeah, Heath Voss held off K-dub for about 2/3's the 1st moto, strong riding today by #28.
The 125 class IS loud.
I didnt see any punks stealing banners this time, the track personal advised numerous times you would be arrested for it, about time to start enforcing it.

I went to my first National race today at Budds Creeek and it was awesome! I've never seen so many people and so many dirtbikes. The sound of all those thumpers on the line brought a tear to my eye. ;)

Carmichael and Reed battled for about one lap and that was it for that. Stewart had to work his way up in the first moto but it only took a couple laps. All in all the best action was at the back but even then it seemed like guys were just following each other around the track. I wanted to see some "rubbin is racing" type competition but the best I got was somebody trying to take Millsaps out (the guy looked back and waited for Millsaps to come before he pushed him over the berm).

I think we posted at the same time zcookie...What was up with Matt Walker and Sellards? I was at the Pro Circuit pit when he came back (sometime in the morning) and apparently he crashed or something but he was pretty heated (and bloody).

Thanks for the report guys. Good to see Reed was only 6 -7 seconds behind RC in both moto's. I think that's proof enough that he has stepped it up. If he can keep closing the gap, he might actually win a race. RC is proving once again that he is the best. Twice now he has fallen or stalled and Reed has taken the lead only to have RC take it back again.

DV isn't doing to badly outdoors this season either. What happened to KDub?

Well let's see, the best GP rider here is Reed, and he's not doing MXdN either. So who is the favorite team at this point?

Shame on Reed for not commiting.

i would say the strong teams would be

1. Belgium

2. France

3. New Zealand

imo it would be a sad state of affairs if USA had to send two semi retired [from top level AMA MX] riders.

Why you say that, hell even our retired riders could school the teams you picked :nener:

Thanks for the reports, guys! Good stuff!

I am really, really wishing Bubba had stepped up to the 250 class this year. If he had, he would have had epic battles in SX with Chad, and he would be having epic battles with RC outdoors. Also, the 125 outdoor and 125 SX title chases would have been a hell of a lot more exciting, too.

If Bubba clinches the 125's early, does anyone think he will race a round or two of the 250 series? I don't.

Great day indeed! Chad was really running out there, but Ricky had his number and was determined to get his 100th win yesterday. Chad actually looked faster on several parts of the track, but Ricky must have had the section that I couldn't see dialed in. I don't think Ricky takes getting passed too kindly as he quickly returned the favor after his little mishap (within a half lap).

As for Bubba, WOW!!! He was soooo flat over the tables that I couldn't believe what I was seeing. You could actually see his foot peg taking out chunks of the lip!

Three cheers for Hughes for picking up his bike and finishing both motos. That was a nasty crash!

there is a back stretch two turns after the finish line jump that was rutted and had breaking bumps before it dropped off to a big down hill. Bubba was 4th gear pinned, front wheel in the air and never let off the throttle, NO ONE else not even RC was hitting that section as hard or as smooth. He is unreal.

Here is RC thanking the fans.

And Chad never quit, he maintained around a 10 second gap for most of the race, but could never draw him in for the last moto

Windham went down hard in practice, a haybale got dragged out into the track right before the off camber by the barn, flagman was barely waving the flag and Windham didn't see it as he came over the rise and plowed it.
I think the Walker incident started from him going down in the first turn at practice, missed the fight after though.
Ryno is a bad a$$ superman , I had the camera on that section and had just turned it off when he went flying.
Brown had a serious wreck too after going over Henry hill on the landing in the second Moto, he was doing good until then.
Besides all the wrecks it was some good racing :) I thought DV looked real good, he was taking lines noone else was and was keeping pace just couldn't catch up.
I haven't found out what happened to RC yet that let Reed get by momentarily?

I can't get used to the site of professional racers who can't restart their bikes. At least RC got his relit, and he's got the excuse of being a little guy on a 450.

Matt Walker at Southwick and Josh Grant at Hangtown lost good points becuase they could not start their 250f's after tipping over. Who's next?

Maybe its time to start outfitting the four strokes with electric starters. Effective silencers that comply with the AMA rules would be a nice addition, too.

It's amazing that RC was able to get that bike started again...He has every excuse in the world...But man, that guy is tough....I can't imagine doing a moto and having anything left after having to kick it over 10 times...lol

These guys are in incredible shape....RC, Reed, Windham....Going all out for 30 minutes is amazing especially at their pace.
