can a 13/49 combo be used on a 108 link chain.

has any body tried a 13/49 combo on their stock chain and does it do real good or do I have to get a 110 link chain and go for the 13/50

i have a 13/49 sproket set up. If i am bored i will count the links. :)

You can take links out of a chain you know, so if the chain is too long you can just take a couple links out and then snap the master link back on.

Yes, I have done it (13/49) with the stock chain guide as well. Since then I went to 13/50 and it does require the 110 length chain and either a modified chain guide or better yet the Fredette one.
