I have a 2006 yz125 and I needed to replace the old brake pads. So After taking the old ones out, the new ones will not fit in because the rear brake piston is in the way. Is there any way to get the pads in with out removing the piston? I was reading the manual and it said that an air compressor was needed. Does this push the piston into the housing or does it push the piston out further into the rotor? Thanks for any help.

Uhhh.. take a pair of Channel Locks Pliers, and squeeze the piston back in.

You don't want to take it out dude, that'd sorta be counter productive.

Been doing it that way for years!

You can use an old pad to make sure you don't squeeze against the piston itself..

That also comes in handy when you have two pistons...
