Carb cleaner on KIPS mainshaft seals?

Will the KIPS mainshaft seals be damaged by carb cleaner? I sprayed some into the holes to clean the goo. They are black rubber, and after spraying they looked a little wrinkled.

Also, the exhaust valve rods have a slot in the end of them. Do the slots go toward the front or toward the carb?

Thanks Hornet, I used Cyclo professional strength and I think it may have damaged the seals. This stuff has acetone, toluene, xylene and methanol in it. I'm going to put it back together and if it leaks, I'll post it here.

As with any rubber becareful when using any cleaner. I was reading KIPS and missed seal. The metal is OK to use but after using cleaner dilute with water to netrualize. You live and learn right :cool:
