Could I port my carb.? If I could, what would this do? Would it just give me more air/gas flowage? What else could I do to my carb to increase performance on my green machine?(89'kx125) Maybe I should go and buy a radvalve and performance reeds? What reeds do you suggest? I want topend, I want more mid-top..Since you can't really increase the bottom end power of a 125 no matter what you do...:o I don't know if I really need power, it did put out a lot of power, but then the clutch started to slip so I started to think that I was burning my top end...When I re-do my topend, should I bore it? And how much would it cost me to do this? Also when I bore it, what else do I need to do? Like any head work? If I ship my cylinder off to Eric or some other company will they supply with the piston, ring and all those goodies? I might just invest in this pretty soon...Thanks for your help.

There was a post lately on carb boring. The conclusion was that carb boring is not a good idea for a few reasons. First, bored carbs have a tendency to stick open. Also there was a question of affecting other circuits. Some good tuners refuse to bore carbs for these reasons. I think you should spend your money somewhere else.

Im sure you might have heard this before haze, but if you are going to pour a lot of money into this bike, you might want to look into getting a newer bike to avoid some of these problems.

Just a thought, it might save you in the long run:D

Eh, yeah...I changed my mind...My friend has a 01CR250R, and my birthday is coming up and so is his...He wants a 450(yes he could handle it, I could too) so I was thinking about having my dad talk his dad into buying him a new bike, and sell us his cr250..Good idea? I'll talk to him about it later....But I want to go fast, if I have to wait a year to get it..I willing to spend about what 200 bucks for a big bore kit?

Well I got an 01 CR and I would reccomend it, however you it's not for a beginner, that's for sure. When you start to lay on the throttle you will find out what I mean, and there is the little fixes you need to, like rad braces etc, and the pipe sticks out so when you drop the bike it goes with it! I am on my 3rd one:scream: But if you are considering PM me and I will help you out.
