Does anyone make a carbon fiber glide plate for the 2000 KX250? I saw the advertisement from ELine for the CRF450 and I'd like to get me one of those for my bike.

I checked ELine and DSP Racing and they both don't have them for my bike. DSP has a skid plate but it doesn't look to provide as much protection as the glide plate.

Otherwise, I may go with an aluminum one. Anyone know of one that's well made. I'm looking for something that looks refined - not just a chunk of metal.

THANKS!

Maybe those terms are interchangeable - and I also think I mixed them up. If you look at what DSP Racing is calling a glide plate - it just fits between the lower frame rails. I'm looking for something bigger that covers the rails.

I always thought a glide plate was more for mx. No wings on the plate to cover the water pump etc. Skid plates have wings and are heavier hence not intended for mx.

I just put a skid plate on my XR 250. When I started the bike up I thought I was ready to grenade the engine. Then I remembered someone saying how more of the engine noises get bounced back toward the rider.

So when you put on your skid/glide plate expect a little more engine noises.
