Going to buy new chain - called rocky mountain & they said I need a 112 link rk x ring. After a search, I thought I needed a 108.? Also want to buy a 12 tooth sprocket and a 48 back. Any advice here? Like to ride the woods - mud/hills/trails, and unfortunately like to go fast out in the open when I'm reved up.
13/49 13/50 12/48 12/49???

2002 200

You're right, they're wrong - 108 works for your 12/48 combo, if you are still riding your 2002 KDX200. That's probably what I will go to when the original rear sprocket goes.

try a 12/46 combo. It's almost the same as 13/50, which is great for hilly terrain. Also, if you get into the flatter country, desert etc where you can get away with less torque and more top speed, you can just swap the front to a 13. And, you can keep the same chain length (108)

Cheers

<footnote> BTW, my recorded top speed on a gravel road with 12/46 gearing is 104 km/h...plenty fast enough!
