:think I'm in the last couple of weeks of recovery from a clavicle fracture (ended up with the plate and screws) not to bad considering the speed I hit the ground at.

Is their anything on the marked that can protect the clavicle are, or is the only option a chest protector?

That would have to be a wierd mechanism. The reason that everyone breaks their clavicle is that it's bent. What happens when you fall on your side you fall on your upper arm/shoulder. There you have your humorus a fairly large bone so it does not absorb the impact. Then you have your shoulder joint which is pretty solidly built. So most of the force of the impact is transported to the clavicle. The clavicle has a curve to it and so rather then the load being all the way across it breaks at the bend. I believe that roosts do little to help you from that. You would have to pad your upper arm alot or build arm suspension.

Well - of course a chest protector will help some... I wear the Fox Airframe - it has pretty good cushioning in the collarbone/shoulder area. Both my fiancé and I broke our collarbones while not wearing chest protectors and we have both worn one ever since!

I also wear a neck support system that will help prevent broken collarbones - especially the ones caused from breaking the bone with the chin of your helmet. The nice thing about PCS's collar is that it isn't bulky like the EVS collar - I don't even notice that I'm wearing it! Plus it will help prevent neck injuries too.
