clutch problems!!! help ASAP.!

my 1990 yamaha yz 125 the tention on the clutch pull on the handle part was rediculus <SP?> is it suppost to be that hard to pull in, after like 2 min my hand cramped. i dont know how to fix it and i need help!! i want to go to the mx track next wednessday for the first time. it was so tight that the cable snapped after a little bit. so after i buy a new clutch cable what do i do? why is it so tight? any help is greatly appreciated! im not even sure, all i know is that its verry tight to pull, no kinks or anything. is it suppost to be tight? how could i loosen the tention?

also, does anyone know where i could get a 1990 Yamaha yz125 clutch cable????
