Gents: Getting close to replacing a stock clutch. '02 yz 250.... any suggestions on what to replace? The friction plates are close to the min. mark. Do you go ahead and replace the whole enchilada or just do the plates, or a dirt digger or ????? The basket beleive it or not looks good with just a bit of rubbing marks on the teeth.
Thanks in advance.

I helped a buddy replace his whole clutch assembly. If your basket fingers aren't notched I think you would be fine just replacing the plates and springs.
You can measure the springs with a pair of calipers to see if they are still in tolerance.

try and find out which of the older yz250's came with steel driven plates- they should fit and the the oem alum plates are crap, barnett makes steel driven plates but they are not as good as the OEM steel plates from previous yzs
