I have been meaning to write this for a while. I posted a question about header tape here at the end of summer. I just wanted to give an update on my findings. I the summer the header tape was GREAT my bike wasnt overheating when I would ride in the woods and there wasnt any heat on my leg. Now that winter is here the heat the header puts out is needed. The bike wont warm up and I have developed some strange jetting problems now that it is cold. It will cough and surge and just off idle and when you try to open the throttle it will just try to die.(these problems go away if I take the tape off) Summer time I haved great results with the tape but cold weather really sucks. Just wanted to give a heads up and also ask if anyone ah had the same problem. Thanks

The radiant heat from the pipe might be helping the fuel vaporize when the ambient temps are really low. Take away the heat and the fuel won't vaporize as easily, which causes a lean condition. Just a thought.
