i have a 01 rm 250 with the following parts 11 oz flywheel weight . boysen reeds , fmf gnarly pipe , turbine q aresstor i ride woods alot and in high elevation would i benifit from higher compression than stock or am i asking for trouble .

you need to make some measurements like squish clearance- more comp often gives better throttle response and a bit more bottom- if you go too far, you will need race gas and the bike can sometimes run a bit flat on the top end.

IMO your best bet is have the whole topend and head ported?modded by eric gorr- his prices are real good and this wont cost much more than some places charge for a simple head mod- he can set it up for your specific powerband, fuel and altitue needs
