Nothing to worry about, just a water pump leak. The telltale sign is milky trans.oil. Best thing to do is get a shop manual and take it from there. Your leak might be coming from a bad oil seal or worn impeller shaft or both. Before ordering any parts take the whole thing apart to see what you need (seal, bearing, shaft & etc.). Good luck!!

does the shaft look smaller than the seal, is it out-of-round? IMO that is what i would replace next but not sure.did you leave the seal dry or did you put something on the lip of the seal?

waterpump

There's more than one seal in there, at least there was on my
97. I just rebuilt mine. When I took it apart there's a small 6 mm
o-ring that fits inside the impeller in a resess that was compleatly
gone. I have a manual so I knew there should have been one there.
There's also a seal on the back side of the impeller with a hard surface,
this was cracked on mine. There's yet another seal for the impeller
shaft thats in the engine cover behind the bering that the impeller
shaft runs on. You have to pull the engine cover to get to it. You
can go to buykawasaki.com and see all this if you don't have a manual.
I'd start by looking at the o-ring and mechanical seal in the impeller first,
they're the easiest to get to. As kevinkdx suggested use some lub on the
new seals and o-ring to keep from tearing them. Just a small amount of
molly disulfide grease should do the trick. You can pick it up at any parts
store pretty cheap. Hope this helps.... TN.220
