In my manual they suggest using 10w 30 in the transmission. Ive always used bel ray gear saver SAE 80w though..Can anyone tell me the difference or what you have found to run the best?

The viscosity numbers of normal motor oil(10w-30w) is not the same as the rating for gear oil.If you want a lot of info and opinions on gear oil do a search, lots of old threads cover this subject.I know a lot of people who use the Bel-Ray without any problems, just change it often especially when you have alu plates in the clutch. Some people change every ride,i do it every 3 hours....

A search on this subject will net you many different opinions. I run good ole ATF in my 2 stroke trans. Have been doing so for a couple years on several different bikes. No bad experiences and the price helps to change often.
