i have a 2002 cr125 and i was reading eric gorrs performance handbook and in the section for tuning tips for my bike it says i can machine the head on a lathe and put a rm125 piston in the bike to help produce more low to mid. has anyone heard or done this? does it work?

when you deck a head it raises your cylinder pressure and allows you to burn more fuel, using a piston from an rm 125 would not be a good idea. I have that same book and i don't think eric said that. Get the ports cleaned up skin the head and try a wiseco pro-lite piston srs makes really good pistons and vertex does too. another thing he said was the top of the cylinder on the hondas is not flat so lapping it is a must.

Yes you can use the rm piston in the cr . It is all about the timing edge of the piston !
