Hello everyone, I have a 05 Crf230f and i'm looking to get an exhaust for it. I pretty much decided on the FmF powercore4 slip on but I've never done this before. I read something about jetting the engine for a new pipe...is that just for full exhaust or for the slip ons too? Also...the sites I was looking at to get the pipe all don't have the crf 230...just the crf 250s and a range of other bikes...thats for the size of the pipe im assuming so if i were to order it for the crf250 would that work on my 230 or should I look for something else? Any help would be appreacitated, thank you.

You'll need a pipe designed SPECIFICALLY for your CRF230F, a CRF250R pipe will not work. As for jetting, the company that makes the pipe should provide jetting guidelines for their pipe.

Rich is saying the slip on is not the right exhaust for your bike. How did you arrive at your decision, Slickhange?

You can use the product finder search for your bike at the various manufacturer web-sites. For instance if you want to stick with FmF there are two (nonslip-on) exhaust possibilities:

http://www.fmfracing.com/applications/product_list.aspx?year=2005&make=HONDA&model=CRF230F

Here's the user instructions for the powercore4 full pipe.
http://www.fmfracing.com/media/techsupport/tech_instructions/PC4/03_CRF150_230_PC4.pdf

FmF's website also has a tab for jetting, but is unsupported for your bike. The instructions indicate "stock" jetting for most bikes. Not much help for you there, if you are inexperienced.

I'd also shop around a bit if you are purchasing your exhaust on-line. The Q is available $50 cheaper than on the FmF site, (although it may not supply required parts).

Good luck.
