I recentlly bought a 05 CRF250r which is my first 4-stroke mx bike. In the service manual it says to check the valves after the first break in ride. I noticed that it is very hard to get a guage under the exhaust valve rocker because the cylinder head is higher than the valve bucket so the guage goes in at a downward angle.I had to go in from the back of the rocker and slide it frontwards. That was like the only way i could get a reading . (which was .010). Am i doing it right?. .The intake was .005. Also the manual states that you have to replace piston and the valve train every 15 hours! . Is this true? . This means i would have to do like 3 top ends a season. Any help would be appreciated. I have been riding 2 strokes for years and can tear one down easy but i am a newbee with the thumpers
