You may be able to extrapolate an estimate of the national number by calculating populations. I think there are about 33 million people in California and about 283 Million people in the U.S. Therefore, about 12% of the nation lives in California. If you assume California has about 12% of the nations off-road vehicles, that would mean there are about 3,000,000 off-road vehicles nationwide.

Of course, this is beginning to sound alot like the Florida election
