Dave Despain was saying on windtunnel that a corner worker was flagging Alessi telling him he was getting ready to be lapped by Stewart and that's why he pulled over. If that's the case then I'm surprised there isn't a bigger deal being made of that since he obviously wasn't being lapped.
I've always wondered how many seconds a lap faster RC and McGrath would have been if they were riding at a pace that caused them to wad it up bad once every 5 races or so.
The most sickening hit I ever saw was after RC ditched his KX250 in the woops and ran back onto the track to remount when he was hit in the helmet by (I think Greg Alby) which spun him round and had him crawl off the track and retire
