From Twinspars recommendations, lets hit Bowie MX Park on Sunday. Looks like its just south of Nocona, so travel time home will not be extended.

Link for directions: http://www.bowiemxpark.com/directions.htm

MX547 and I will have bikes in tow.

What about pit passes? Or are the pits open in Dallas?

Hey fellas, that guy is me. If you guys are vet mx'ers you'll more than likely enjoy River Valley. The dirt is a nice red clay/sand mix and the jumps are nice but not do or die. There are some by-passes of the more intimidating jumps if you don't want to go for it. The pics on the website are from just after the track opened and we have added 7 new jumps since they were taken. The track is about 40 minutes NE of DFW airport so it's much closer to town. We received 2" of rain yesterday and DFW is supposed to get some more Thursday so it's kind of wait and see right now. If it's an 1" or less then the track will be good by Sunday. I've been wanting to ride with Jay so hopefully he can convince y'all to come out to RV for your Sunday ride. Hope to see y'all there.

PS Because of the potential for rain, you will want to call whichever track you choose before you haul.

Well, if we get rained out, we can find a buffet somewhere to do some serious damage to, then head home! :)

I'm heading down with the other Brian (Yamab) and we'll be at Gene's around 5-6pm. Looking forward to some Mexican food and a couple of Coronas.

I have to call in Friday night to confirm that I'm needed downtown on Monday (Jury Duty), so I'll probably need to be on the road by 1pm Sunday. If by some miracle they don't have me coming in, time won't be too much of an issue for me, but Brian has to be back at work on Monday. Either way, it's all good. Racing, mexican food, dirtbikes, etc.

DWreck and I will leave Stillwater around 3:30 Friday. DWreck is going to go to Davis for the enduro and his bike is being transported by Craig_enid.
Shameless Honda plug, "I wanna ride!"

So what track does everyone want to hit on Sunday? River Valley sounds cool being vet friendly, but I'm game for either track. ;)

Looks like I'm out on riding. I just changed jobs and insurance is a little problem right now. I'd rather not risk anything. :(

The weather looks bad here. The radar shows a big cell that's about to hit all of N. Texas. We are supposed to get 2"-3" of rain during the next day and possibly more Sat.

Our drainage is good so we won't have standing water on the track. It looks like it's going to be muddy though.

The Davis enduro last year drained off nicely.
Qualifier style, so no timekeeping required. I don't know how the route will be set up this year, but last year they looped us back to camp for gas. If 2 hours riding is enough, you can relax or get an early start back to home.
I'm just sayin'..... All are welcome!
We finished off last years race with a good mexican dinner in Davis, before heading home.

I think Yamab and I are going to leave the bikes here in KC. Our schedule won't change, still up for some killer Mexican tomorrow night, and the race on Sat, but I am going to be rushed on Sunday, so taking one muddy bike out of the equation will make things much easier on us. :)

Gene, pick out the restaurant and reserve us a spot. :)

Mexican on Friday night ... I'll come up. Lou/Gene call me with the plan tomorrow. I need an hour to get there from east Dallas.

What is up Saturday? A buddy called with an extra ticket, so I am going ... totally last minute.

Love to stop by and see everyone Sat if there is some tailgating in the usual spot.

With all the rain we got today, DWreck might get away earlier. We'll call when we leave Stillwater. Track or trail makes me no difference. Muddy trails are more favorable than a muddy track but I wanna ride.

MX547 and I are going to bring the bikes just in-case we have the chance to ride on Sunday. If not, looks like its the Sunday Brunch buffet. :ride:

As for the SX on Saturday, to bad that holes in the roof of the stadium! :coocoo:

Every year that I go I spend the last week worrying about the weather.

Whoever decided on that design deserves a kick in the nuts!

That would be Tom Landry. He believed football was played by MEN and should be outdoors ... he did allow them to cover the whiny fans though :)

River Valley received too much rain and Sunday practice has been canceled.

Unfortunately, the owners of Bowie posted this morning on our local board that they have permanently closed their facility.

Thanks CamP. I'm out the door to go pick up MX547. Looks like we will be coming without bikes. Look out Sunday Brunch!
