But I did go on a spectacular trail ride at our top secret mountain location. I've got some pictures if you're interested. And there are more to come.

If I did everthing right, the pics should be HERE

No bikinis allowed, sorry.:)

Oh, almost forgot to thank Jer for the great suspension. I don't even want a new bike anymore. But I've got my eye on some old ones.

Amazing pictures! The colors are very vivid. What kind of camera did you use? I guess you can’t say just where that top secret mountain location is located huh? It’s been a long time since I’ve seen an aspen tree, not since I moved from New Mexico. Thanks for the pictures, they make me homesick.

I can't take credit for those pictures. I didn't take them and it wasn't my camera. It was some kind of Olympus digital. I didn't take my digital camera because I fall down some.:) I did take one of those throw away cameras, but I don't have the pictures back from the lab yet.

I thought aspens were everywhere.

Given enough time, and beer, I might accidentally divulge the secret location.:)

You would think that I'd ride more often. Truth is I've only ridden 3 times this year. Once in the secret location and twice out in the sandy whoops. I can get beer (free beer does taste better) but I gotta start making some time. Bring your beer over to my house and we'll see what happens.

Well because I am only 16 I can’t buy you the beer... So I guess I will just have to wait. The photos have me really home sick, I miss the mountains so much. Here in Houston there is only sand and more sand and yet even more sand after that. I am lucky though that I get to take a trip to Colorado next year and go riding in the Rockies with my dad and his friend Allen. If I ever make it back to New Mexico I would love to see that riding spot, that is if you don’t mind having a speedy teenager roosting the “old guys” around. :p

I don't mind getting roosted by a teenager. I'm used to it. But you gotta hang with the old guys the night before the ride. And you gotta ingest all the same food and beverages that we do or else the roosting won't count.;)

Plus, if you are ahead of the guy that knows the trails, you are going to be spending the night on the trail. So you better bring a bucket of chicken and a lantern.:)

Well I don’t know if that’s a fair deal now. I haven’t had the great many years it takes to build up a tolerance to the food and drink you mention. ;)

I think I would rather have a burger from Blake’s What-a-Burger then a bucket of chicken. And add to that a vanilla coke, there there best! I should re-think roosting you guys, maybe it would be better to hang back and learn .

Am I safe in guessing that the photos were taken somewhere in the Jemez mountains?

Ahh you mean Blake's Lotaburger, double meat, double cheese, with green chile and a large order of home fries. That'll sure lube ya up.

Only thing you could learn from me is what NOT to to. I guess that could be of use to a young fella like you.

Maybe it is...Then again I never said it was in New Mexico. Must be a mystery location.

Kinda looks like Sierra Blanca in the background but there are too many aspens for that area (not to mention that the peak isn't big enough). Hmmm... Inquiring minds wanna know. :)

Blake's was our primary food stop on the way from El Paso to Ruidoso. You can't beat green chiles on a burger. I don't think that I've even seen a place in Dallas that offers them, just jalapenos.

Green chili is good, gets the insides all fired up! VD have you eaten at Los Cuates? It’s on the corner of San Mateo and Lomas. One of their green chili chicken burritos will act like NOS in your stomach. Before you know it you will be flying down the trails at breakneck speeds! That must the be secret to going fast, NOS burritos.

I also stand corrected about the Blake’s Lotaburger. Sorry about that, it’s been a long time since I have been to one.

:silly: Have I eaten at Los Cuates? Is a pigs ass pork? I used to love that place, carne adovada was the best. They still cook their sopapillias in real lard. But the last time I ate there (early '90s)I got a deluxe case of food poisoning the night before I was going down to Soccoro for a trials. One thing you don't want to know about is food poisoning and hot red chile.:o I hope the McDonald's in Belen has recovered from my emergency visit ten years ago.:scream:

The Georgetown Cycle Shop crew always prefered Sadie's. More food and better Margaritas, but that was when they were still in the Bowling Alley.;)
