Yes, you can leave your stuff there... if by paddock you mean some locked-up compound... no. If you've ever been to a DW, you recall that there are bikes/gear, etc., left out over night all over the place.

Sound good to me guys, but does the camping/parking area have showers? I've seen yes and I've seen no. Or do they at least have sprinklers we can run thru :moon: You can just hose me off and I'm good for another day :scream:

There are several versions of showers but not an established city slicker shower. There will be several power washers which when used on mist will double as a shower. As far as bike security- ask PapaK about waking up and seing my bike in the middle of a field 100 yds from my campsight all by itself. In a hotdam induced state I moved it out of the way so Lori could get out early in the morning and forgot where I put it. There is no problem with leaving anythhing out in the open

Does anyone know if they sell Shiner Bock in Oklahoma? I am not sure I can go a whole week of bench racing without one! :(

Okie - Thanks!
Should have thought of the bottle vs can issue. Shiner does come in cans, so I'll just have to bring a bunch!
FYI - For all of you that don't camp out for long periods of time ... block ice will last 4~5 times longer than cube ice.
My list is almost complete, now all I have to do is find the catalogs ....

Shiner?! What the heck is it?

Anyway, bike security, I doubt I'll get much sleep there anyway, I'll volunteer for guard duty! I don't trust Thump so my bike will be tied to my foot! I feel for the poor sap that ventures in and tries to take one of our rides! I doubt that would happen though, seems like one big family. ;)

Bottles vs Cans? When near Stillwater, there is only one type of "can" that can be used. It is not your typical 12 oz. model, more like 5 GALLONS and comes with a tap! NOW that is what we call a Cowboy Cooler!

Let's see.... 2-300 DRN'ers all looking out for each other. You think? I left my YZ sitting out at Cooperland with just Thump and Twinnie there (I went to town for a room), they slept in the office, their bikes out there too, I wasn't worried at all. This place is in the boonies folks, it's all good.

For all you DW newbies... this thing is like a closed-nit village during that week, everyone there is "related", all looking out for each other, you really do need to experience this. Is your bike safe sitting outside? No doubt... you'll see bikes EVERYWHERE, lol.

Last year I stayed in town and just left bikes, tools, fuel etc... sitting wherever they ended up. Everything made it home just fine.

I too am wondering about the showers. I don't plan on going anywhere once I park and unload my junk. If there are showers, that would be good. Garden hose would be okay too. If nothing else, I guess I could hike down to lake Washacoquei and have a dip.

Seeing that I'll be doing the motorhome thing I won't need my solar shower. But I will bring it for anyone that needs it. Works qiute well.
