The solid rotors are for riding in mud. I have read the wave rotors are less likely to warp. I have not tried either type. What happened to your stock ones?
My brother has 2001 KDX 200. He just replaced stock rear rotor with solid unit. He really likes the way the brakes feel now. They are more progressive instead of easily locking.
I just replaced my stock front rotor after the floating part of it was, lets say, floating too much. I got an EBC semi-solid unit which is a non floating design. It is also nickel plated for better braking power and life. And the whole package adds up to longer pad life as well. I paid $150 CDN for it, which is a great deal! I reccomend it for anyone replacing their rotors.
