I thought there would be some sort of calculator out there for this. I couldn't find one but here is what I am wondering.

2016 YZ250 2T. The stock gearing is 14/50 with a 114 link chain. I am going to make it a 14/51, can I still use a 114 or do I need to buy the 116? It's just nice to have it precut. Does anyone know?
Thanks!!

1) Move the wheel closer in the swingarm (if the slight effect on handling is not a concern, but really, you'd have to move it so little you'll never notice a difference, imho)
2) Order the longer chain along with a chain breaker. Good tool to have and not expensive.

You should be fine with just one tooth extra on the rear sprocket. I just changed from 13/49 to 13/50 on my Beta and didn't need any additional links. Like Okie said, there should be room to move the axel forward.

BTW, if you want to check it out, after you remove the master link with the existing gearing, lay the end of the chain on the rear sprocket with one tooth exposed. See if the axle will move forward far enough to get the correct tension.
